ASL Facemask Update 2

Hi everyone in Bexar county and San Antonio, I’m Dawn Emerick, Metro Health Director.

Today we’re going to talk a little about how to wear masks.

So the first thing we want you to do is always wash your hands or use sanitizer before you pick up your mask.

Securely tie the facemask over your ears.

Grab the ends or the corners of the mask and safely pull them up over your nose.

Do not cover your eyes. You won’t be able to see anyway but please do not cover your eyes.

When wearing the mask you may be tempted to touch your face. Please avoid doing so. If you feel like you need to do that just make sure that your hands are washed with either hot soapy water or sanitizer.

To remove the mask, make sure that you wash your hands again. Grab the corners of the mask. Pull it down over your face, being careful not to touch your face or your eyes.

Be sure to clean your mask every single day with hot water and laundry detergent. You can do that in your kitchen or bathroom sink.

Stay safe and stay strong San Antonio!
